NaNo Day 17 – Rockin’ N’ Rollin’

Number 17

It’s toward that time of night for me! NaNo writing session #17! I already have some ideas in my head I need to input into a couple of chapters. Then I will continue writing where I left off last night.

So far today, no birds flying into the windows and it’s not likely to happen now that it is dark out. Phew! lol. Looking like a pretty calm night.

Time for dinner, little family time perhaps, and then daughter off to bed. Then, prayer before writing and then writing time!

God bless you all on your writing journey!

NaNo Day 16 – Managed!

Number 16

Here we are it is 11:34PM Eastern time and I just finished writing 1,766 words for the night. I so cannot do more. I can barely keep my eyes open after the busy day I had.

Total word count now is: 31,847

My characters are about to undergo one dramatic change that will affect all of their lives, some for the better, some for the worst.

Must get off to bed before I fall asleep in my chair!

Night all and God bless!

NaNo Day 16 – Gimping Along

Number 16

I must admit. Tonight is starting off quite slowly…er…well really I haven’t started at all. It has been a long day.

Was up at 7 and then while eating breakfast there was a loud BANG! on my front window. I look up and see this plume of feathers everywhere. A bird flew into the window, but I knew it had to be a bit one for the sound of the impact. Surprised my window was cracked!

I went outside and looked around and didn’t see the bird at first. When I turned to go back inside there he was. Laying on the ground was a partridge, breathing, but clearly out of sorts and confused at what happened. So I go back inside and call the Maine Game Wardens to figure out what I should do. I was told to wait an hour to see if the bird came back around and if he/she did, and did not injure anything, it would fly off on it’s own. So I wanted and checked on the bird about an hour later and as soon as it saw me, it flew off. Good ending there!

Shortly after that it was off to the vet for two dogs. One was up to date on shots, the other needed everything. Got that done and then picked up a friend from church and brought her home to spend the day with us. We enjoyed good food and watched Garfield: The Movie which we all loved! I can never get enough of Garfield! lol.

It wasn’t until about 7:30 or so when we got back home after taking our friend back to her place. It is after 9PM Eastern.

Listening to Pandora and Elvis is singing “Suspicious Minds”. Perfect time period music for my story.

Hmm Well, I guess I should go and get writing.

I just want to say, “Thank you. Thank you very much.” for reading along! :)

Had some good changes happen in my book I wasn’t expecting that is really working in my favor…at least for tonight. lol. We’ll see about tomorrow’s writing session and see how well that goes.

Well, my fellow NaNoWriMos, I must be off to bed. Sleep well and God bless!

NaNo Day 15! Half Way Point

Number 15

So today we are at the half way point of NaNoWriMo! How amazing is that! How have you all been doing? Are you making your word count every day? Exceeding your word count? Did you fall behind? Either way the important thing here is to finish, no matter what your word count may be. Just crossing that finish line can make all the difference.

So, it is my writing time tonight. I only have about two hours compared to  about three I usually get. Have to be at the vet tomorrow morning to have both my dogs checked out and get any shots they may need. Yippee!!

Then I have company in the afternoon. Not sure I will get to write tomorrow but I am going to try. Even if it’s a half an hour at some point during the day I know it  will be something!

Well, time to quite chatting here and get to work. I’ve almost written 200 words here that could have helped me! Ha! Ah well.

And I’m off!

Back later.

NaNo Day 14 – Finish Line…Well For Today

Number 14

NaNo Day 14…

I wasn’t sure how it was going to go, but thankfully, with God by my side I did it again. I surpassed the minimum word count again! It was tricky at one point because I thought I was going to have to remove a character that was giving me so much trouble I wanted to scream at him! lol. But I chatted with another NaNoWriMo friend via IMVU and she helped me figure it out. Really all she needed do was listen until I rambled myself into a solution! Doesn’t it usually happen that way?

So now I am keeping the character in the book, but something unexpected is going to happen to him. It will be something unexpected to me because I don’t even know what is going to happen! I will find out when he does.

Total word count for end of today: 27,655

NaNo Day 14 – Pre Writing Prep Work

Number 14

Well here we are on NaNo Day 14. Last night I printed off my proposed seven chapters. I say proposed because I have a feeling chapters and their division areas will change.  I plan on reading over those, making notes, or additions, where necessary just to fill in the timeline gaps and help me get a better mental picture of the events I need to happen. Hopefully, this will help me get an idea of where I need to be writing this evening.

But for now, it is time to take the dogs out, stop at the post office, and then drop my daughter off at school.

Good luck everyone and God bless!

NaNo Day 13 – I Made It!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Oh, man! Did I have a rough time last night. As I was writing I ran into several areas of the story I had written in previous days had some holes in the time line of events that if not fixed really would mess up the upcoming timeline for what I have yet to write. Then on top of that, some of the story I had already written for yesterdays word count was like gone so I had to figure out how to remedy that.

Thanks be to God for pulling me through last night and helping me figure everything out!!! He is so awesome to work with and I couldn’t have done it without Him!!!

Current Word Count: 25,532

NaNo Day 13 – Frustration Setting In

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Okay, today is proving to be one frustrating day with my story. My writing is going pretty well, that’s not the problem. The problem is the more I write and just let the story go, I am seeing it go in several directions and one character I need to carrying through the story to get to a pivotal point with another character is not being carried through the story. Ugh!!

I’m getting a tension headache. I am trying to figure something out before my writing session in a couple of hours. I really would hate to have to go through seven chapters and try to figure this out, but if I don’t, I’m worried my story is going to lose a pivotal point in the plot it really needs.

Another thing that is making this story difficult, is I have based my main male character off from a very notable person in music history and I’m using some names of places and events in this person’s past, but I’m scared of getting anything too close because this person, though passed away, has an enterprise with his name on it and I don’t want to step on any legalities.

I’m feeling quite overwhelmed right now and wish I had a sounding board! I so need one! Anyone else get stuck in the middle of NaNoWriMo with story issues that can halt progress? What do you do about it? Do you talk to another writing buddy? Pray? What helps you?

I know God is helping me so I’ll figure it out.

Well, off to the kitchen for dinner and then dessert. Then kiddo to bed and writing time.

Good luck everyone!

NaNo Day 12 – Made It!

Number 12

Yawn!! Finally, I can get to bed. Wrote over 2200 words today for a total word count of 23,378! Yay!

I’m getting to a part in the story I am not sure what is going to happen next. It shall be interesting to see how the story unfolds. That is one reason I don’t use an outline. I generally like surprises so long as they don’t mess up my story too much. :) My main character Wesley has just lost a dear friend and mentor and must decide on how to go about his musical career on his own. Wesley is only twelve right now and has some time to plan. But I am not sure what I am going to have happen after his friend’s funeral. hmmm….

Well, I am off to bed. Good luck to those who are still writing and awesome job for those who have written their word count today!

See you in the AM!
