A Daughter's Promise

Sorry I’m Late… Here’s Why!

Good morning… it’s 3:28AM Eastern Time in Maine.

Sorry about the wait but there has been a lot going on health wise. I have bipolar disorder and I was going through mood swings of severe depression of not getting out of bed and having no interest in anything let alone writing. Then I would swing to hypomania where I would’t sleep for days and then crash from exhaustion only to be back up in hypomania again four days later. It just keeps cycling. But now I’m on Zyprexa temporarily until we can get the lithium levels to a therapeutic level. I have been going through this for years and finally I had to switch doctors because she wasn’t willing to increase the lithium. I have a new provider now and she is willing to do whatever it takes to get me stabilized.

But when I’m hypomanic I do a lot of writing because I can’t sleep or sleep very little. So I have been working on A Daughter’s Promise. I had to rewrite the story three times. It really bites when you have to dump like 10,000 words because the story just isn’t working. And in case you are wondering, NO, I didn’t delete the file. I just created a new one. Did I scare you? Sorry about that.

In all seriousness, I do have a goal of having a first draft done by Christmas. I’m giving myself that deadline because it helps motivate me and it gives me something to strive for. You know? Something to look forward to.

Stats… So since I had to rewrite the story again, I have a prologue, but I am working on chapter one. I don’t really have much to say at this point because there is not much to go on. But what I am going to do in my next blog post is start introducing you to my characters, the main characters at least. So stay tuned for the first character introduction. Next Wednesday you will meet Sage Ella Buchanan, 17 years old. That’s all I’m giving you for now. :)

Have a good day everyone!

God bless,

JI
