NaNo Day 8 – Starting Slow!

Number 8

Busy morning. I wasn’t able to get started writing as soon as my daughter went to school. Instead of 2.5 hours, I have about 1, but I’ll take every moment I can get. Starting another chapter today! Can’t wait. Story is really moving along.

Best of luck everyone!!! Gotta go get writing. Not much time left this afternoon and not sure I’ll get to it tonight. May have to play catch up tomorrow!

Nano Day 7 – Managed to Fly!

DCF 1.0Well after the stressful and sad events of yesterday on the home-front, I did manage to write 1800 words. It wasn’t easy writing through tired, blurry eyes after a morning of tears. But by God‘s strength and grace I was able to meet and exceed the minimum word count for the day. Yay! Seven days in, one week done! So far so good! I must press on to another day!

Dum De Dum… NaNo Day 6 has arrived!

DCF 1.0

Day 6 is here. Am I ready for this? Not really. I didn’t get a solid six hours of sleep. I just kept waking up and then the dogs woke up  just after 7. As soon as my husband leaves for work, I am the one they go to, even if I’m still in bed. Need to remedy that!!!! I need my NaNo sleep so my brain can pump out those words!

I have a feeling it will be a sluggish day for me but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to try.  I just hope I don’t fall asleep at the keyboard. lol.

I’m off to write!

Day 5 Word Count – Finished!!

Number 5

Earlier today I did finish my word count! Yay!!! However, shortly after I took a break and sat on the couch and crashed. I was out for over an hour.

I have also been feeling grumpier than usual and irritable. Can we say “stress” anyone?

The first couple of days of NaNo were great and I was enjoying myself. As I keep pushing through each day I realize I am feeling more stressed and not the nicest person to my family because of it. So, that led me to ask, do any of you NaNoWriMos experience stress during the whole NaNo writing process? If so, how do you deal with it? I know some people may not have the daily pressures of family life, but then others have school and jobs. I have the full time family life.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to manage life through NaNo? Thoughts are greatly appreciated!!!

God bless!

Day 5! Time To Write

Number 5

Daughter is just off to school! Busy morning already and trying to calm myself down and relax and get into the writing mode is something else.

Starting off with 7659 words right now. May God guide my every keystroke and help me to at least meet the word count today.

Good luck everyone!

If you’re looking to add me as a writing buddy feel free! I look forward to cheering you on!

NaNo Day 4 – Finished

Number 4

I reached my word count for the day. Wrote 1689 words, so just over the minimum. I so wanted to write more, but there comes a time at night after a long day of house chores, walking the dogs, and watching a four year old, that just says (yawn) it’s time for bed.

So off to dream to land. Wonder what I’ll dream about tonight! Last night it was Johnny Depp as Rumpelstiltskin and I was some girl named Clara. In the dream I remember thinking “I must be in the new Tim Burton movie.” Was so weird but cool at the same time.

Anyway, good luck to those of you still writing and congrats to those of you who have met or exceeded your daily word count!

Night all!

NaNo Day 3 done!!

Number 3

Meant to write this post last night before bed but day 3 of NaNo is done! I wrote about 1700 words so just a little over the minimum word count. I made it thought! Whew! This is the first time writing fiction during a NaNo so I am happy to see I’m doing as well as I am. Yeah, so it’s all a VERY rough draft and will need some polishing out but that’s totally fine! LATER!!! Turn critic off!!! Must turn critic off!!! Critic, you’ll have your turn, but not this month! lol.

We’ll I’m off!

Two Days And Counting!!!

NaNo is just about here! Two days (roughly) go. I have a synopsis written and part of an outline. I only know how part of this story is going to unfold. That’s part of the fun though, discovering how your story will unfold as you write it.

Feeling pretty tired today, but still remaining optimistic. Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue can sure put a crimp in things. Regardless, I am going to do my best on my good days and on my bad days, give myself a break. After all, NaNo is supposed to be fun. I just have to remind myself of that and not get stressed out if I fall behind. Will do what I can and see how God works.

How are you doing on your preparations?

Do you have a chronic illness that impedes your writing? How do you handle it? Do you try to stay optimistic through the NaNo month?

Best of luck to everyone in during your preparations!

NaNo Is Coming!! Do You Have A Story Ready?

Oh, boy! National Novel Writing Month is coming soon!  Just six days away!!! Ahhh! I’m so excited! Like you couldn’t tell, right?

I have been working on the synopsis for my novel Facade which I had started during Camp NaNo a couple of years ago, but never got too far with it. In that time I have implemented some changes so I’ll be doing some rewriting for NaNo this year. I am very excited and can’t wait to see what comes of this novel set in the 1930’s & 1950’s. It will be interesting to learn the lingo and culture of that ear.

My husband shocked me yesterday and told me he had a story idea and that he wanted to try his hand at NaNo! He has never written stories and works as a computer programmer, so this should be interesting. I listened to his idea (involving the USS Maine) and think he has a really good story. I can’t wait to read the story when he is finished with it!!

Counting down the days until NaNo!

Best of luck everyone!
