A Personal Decision

For all of my readers whether on my blog or Facebook, I feel I need to let you all know I am taking a break from writing and not sure when I will get back to it. I have been going through depression for over seven years, but I have reached a phase in my recovery where I need to take time off from the career (writing) that I was pursuing. I can’t handle the stress it brings and I just have so much fatigue, and trouble focusing, and little motivation to do anything. Things are a LOT better than they used to be so I know therapy and such are working, but right now, I need to take a break from things and just let myself read some self help books and meditate on what I learn and just take it easy and try to enjoy life as it is…learn to accept the positive changes in my life and embrace them and NOT be afraid of them. So, I have some things to focus on in my personal life, so you may not see me post for a while at least not about writing projects. On Facebook, you won’t seem promoting any of my work and I probably won’t be participating in Camp NaNo or National Novel Writer’s Month this year.

I hope you all understand. This break will give me time to reflect on the changes in my life, how to accept them and deal with all of the hardships and changes I’ve been through as a result.  I am on a journey of self discovery…and only God knows where that will lead me.

God bless you all in all you do as he guides you on the right path.

Revamping Writing Style

For the past few months, I haven’t written much, I’m sorry to say. I guess you can say I am in the middle of one of those life transforming stages and I’m thinking about what it is I really want to write. What am I comfortable writing about as a Christian woman? I used to write about vampires, demons,  gypsies, etc., but over the past few years I have become uncomfortable with writing about some things. I feel as a Christian I have a responsiblitity to be an example to others and that includes also in my writing and what I choose to write about.

To be honest, I have never looked into writing Christian fiction but I am seriously considering that now. I even bought a couple of books to help get me into that line of work.

But I also have a few nonfiction books I’d like to write sharing my experiences with post traumtic stress disorder, gluten sensitivity, what it’s like for me living with a personality as an INFP, and what’s it’s like to be highly sensitive. The nonfiction works will probably be what I focus on first. I haven’t decided which book will be first but as soon as I begin work on that book I will let you know and keep updating you on the progress of that book. Until then everyone, take care and God bless.

News on Writing

A Month of Letters

Just recently I signed up for A Month of Letters where you write a card or letter every day of the month of February to as many people as you know. This is in effort to bring back the dying art of letter writing that is so sadly fading away in the world f texting and emails.

I thank Kelly Cautillo for her post on her blog about A Month of Letters. If it were not for her post I would not have known about this challenge. You can find her blog here: http://kellycautillo.wordpress.com/author/kellycautillo/

I encourage others to try this challenge and lets see how many letters we can get going. All I can’t think of is “This is going to be fun”, and “The post office is going to love this” providing a lot of letters get exchanged. So lets get writing and have fun doing so! Bet of luck. Would love to hear if you are participating.

Kindle Books

I’ve been busy today putting together some small poetry manuscripts for Kindle. The three that I published today were: Heat of the Night: A Collection of Poetry on Love, Day & Night: A Collection of Nature Poetry, and Everlasting Arms: A Collection of Religious Poetry. I think I had them set to sell for $0.99 but I will have to double check that. I also published, The History of Sackets Harbor, New York. Once the links become available for these works I will put up another post. Now that those are done I am going to get to work on Facade. I still need to work on some background information for characters and the bare bones of an outline all before tomorrow when Camp NaNo starts. Shall be fun! Sure can’t wait for tomorrow! I check back in then!
