Day 6 – On the Way Out!

Image

Well, I’m done for the day. I wrote just over 2,000 words. Time to fill the pellet stove with pellets, and walk the dogs before bed. Hittin’ the sack before 1AM this time! lol. Yawning and sleepy-eyed so I know I won’t be up much longer. Much to do tomorrow. Need to make a meal for a family who has a family member going through chemo, so I need to get that done before any writing can be done.

Well, God bless and everyone have a great night, or early morning, depending on where you live!

Night all!

NaNo Day 3…Ready? Set? Go!!!

Image

Sitting here at the dining room table munching on Back to Nature’s Multi-Seed Gluten Free Rice Thin Crackers and drinking milk thistle and dandelion tea. Crackers for dinner? Yup. That’s right! My sinuses are draining and my belly is highly upset!  Seems to be the course since the weather’s been dry.

So not feeling so energetic for tonight’s writing spree but I will try to make it anyway. I’m just happy I was able to punch out a few hundred words this morning before church. Pays to get up earlier than normal I guess.

Over 4200 words recorded on the NaNo site so far. Still need to update it from this morning’s writing session. Can’t update it much more if I don’t get crackin’.  Time to join the other NaNoWriMos who have probably already written if not exceeded their word count. I’m such a slacker. lol. Okay not that bad, but will be if I don’t get going.

Best of luck everyone!

Day 2 In The Books!

Number 2

Well, it is midnight now and so I must stop writing…for a few hours at least. lol.

Wrote over 2170 words today. I am a bit ahead which surprises me. I hate to stop now since I am on a roll, but I have church in the morning. Thankfully, the clocks will set back and hour and I get one more hour of sleep!! Well, I hope to anyway. Will a four year old and two dogs, guess we’ll see about that one.

Congrats everyone who made their word count for day 2! If you haven’t quite gotten there, don’t be discouraged and don’t be hard on yourself. Pace your self  and try not to stress out. You’ll get there.

Good night all!

NaNo Day 1 Word Count – Accomplished!

Ahhh… Here we are coming to a close on Day 1 of NaNo. Okay, so there is like 27 minutes left, but I am stopping for the night. I surprised myself by surpassing the daily word count and reaching 2,060 words today. I would still be writing if I didn’t have to go to bed. Have company coming tomorrow so I must get some sleep.

Good luck to those of you who are still plugging away. Congrats to those of you who have reached or exceeded today’s word count!

Good night all and see you back tomorrow!

It’s TIIIME!! NaNo is here!

Well today is the day. November 1st. I am feeling okay right now, some pain but tolerable thanks to Aleve.  So I best get typing and see how far I can get today.

Super excited about my story!

So where are you when you are working on your story for NaNo? Are you at coffee shop with other NaNoWriMos? Are you sitting at home, working in solitude? Are you listening to music or drinking for favorite beverage to help you along?

For me, I’m sitting in my office, while my daughter is at school, drinking chamomile tea, listening to 50s Rock N Roll on Pandora. Why 50s? Because that is where the bulk of my story is set. Certainly helps set the mood.

I can’t write a long post write now, but perhaps I’ll be back later.

God bless in your writing endevors!

Camp NaNoWriMo

1st Day of Camp NaNo – April

Today is the first day of Camp NaNo. I am rewriting a bit of a story I had started a couple years ago. The more I read the story the more I realized it wasn’t going the way I had intended. So I have been working on ways to change that.

So far I am over 800 words but the day isn’t over yet. Caring for a young child while trying to write is interesting. I have had to learn to write in spurts and try to be quick at picking up where I left off. It isn’t easy, but I hope I can cope with this and manage each day to make the minimum word count so I can reach my goal.

Soon it will be nap time and then dinner and family time and then after everyone is in bed, I am planning to carve out more time tonight for NaNoing.

I plan to check in again later this evening.

Best of luck!

Last Day of NaNo

Well today is the last day of NaNo. How did you all do? So far I have a novel over 93,000 words. It who knows how much of that will stay the further I get with my editing. The editing has been put in the back ground for now while I concentrate on a few articles related to mental health. Then I have two articles to write for the Yahoo Contributor’s Network. I’ve been keeping pretty busy I guess, or trying to. Pretty tired today so I’m not sure how much writing will be done tonight. Hopefully, I’ll have a chance tomorrow, but them I have a doctors appointment and its my daughter’s birthday tomorrow. (sighs) tomorrow may not be a writing day after all. Well, we all have those days. We must keep trucking and do what we can each day. Take care everyone and I’ll check in again soon.

16th Day of NaNo

What a day! I have done some writing and reworking of some old manuscripts to fit into this new one I am working on for NaNo. I have managed to reach just over 93,000 words but I am not done yet. The next few days will be editing to see if everything fits together the way I want it to and keeps the meaning of the book as I have it in my mind now. I just hope I have’t made a major mistake in incorporating some old manuscripts into this new one. I guess we’ll see what happens when it comes to the editing phase. The ending still needs to be written but I can’t do that until I how the rest of the story goes.

Ugh! I don’t know if I’m really ready for this whole editing thing. It’s one of the phases of being an author I really can’t stand. Ah well! Once my hubby gets home with the reams of printer paper I need I can print my story off and get ready for editing tomorrow.

How is everyone else doing? Are you reaching your goals, behind, or head? I know it’s not easy trying to reach your word count every day and I know there have been days I haven’t written a thing. But then I try to work extra hard when I do sit down to write so that way I can still reach my goal. Now the work I’ve done to day, I am uncertain about. I guess I will read through some of it before I print it off and put in some headings so I’m not completely lost when I read through it for the edit.

Well, take care of everyone. Best of luck and God bless!

15th day of NaNo

Here it is the 15th day of NaNo and I am falling a little bit behind. Last night I had planned to work more on my writing and catch up the few hundred words I was lacking, but a tick decided to attach itself to my daughters scalp and we were all in a frenzy about it last night. The tick was removed but we were all scared about what kind it was and so forth.

This morning we are taking my daughter to the doctors to have her checked out. So hopefully everything goes well.

My story for NaNo so far is 22,900 words, so I will really need to catch up today. I believe I am to be somewhere around 24, 990 words today. I’m sure I will be able to reach that so long as my daughter gives me a chance. Of course, I could give her my husbands iPad to play games on and then she will preoccupied for hours and I’ll be able to write. lol. She actually prefers the ipad to watching her TV shows. At least the games she plays helps her to use her problem solving skills and shapes.

I still feel like I have so much work left to do on this book. I am writing a nonfiction book that has some painful parts in it, but I feel I need to tell my story no matter how I feel writing it, no matter how many breakdowns I have. If I can help someone else through my writing, then I feel it was all worth it. I pretty much have once section of three done and am working on the section about my childhood and living with a father who seemed ungrateful for what he had. I finished the part about my caring for my mother through months of her illness with ovarian cancer. I kind of wrote these out of chronological order but that is okay. I can put them in the right orders later. After I write the section about my childhood, I will be writing about the decline of my own health and the trials I went through to discover what was ailing me. So far things are going okay.

Best of luck to everyone one participating in NaNo this year!
